Autoships' New Features Encourage
Upgrades
Autoship Systems Corporation is pleased to announce Dutch
ship designers, De Voogt Naval Architects of the Netherlands
recently purchased upgrades for their 3 Autoship®
and 5 Autohydro®
licenses.
Established in 1912, De Voogt was one of the original
founders of the Feadship organization. Today 58 permanent
staff members and a number of freelance specialists
cover every discipline of yacht engineering and yacht
design: naval architecture, mechanical engineering and
interior design drawing. The close relationship between
De Voogt and the yards ensures a fundamental understanding
of the construction techniques of the builders as well
as the utmost quality in design, engineering and construction.
Francis Gumbs, Manager of Naval Architecture at De
Voogt writes:
"For over ten years, De Voogt Naval Architects
- Feadship's
high-tech design and engineering center in Haarlem,
The Netherlands - has been employing the Autoship and
Autohydro programs for use in developing preliminary
design concepts for our superyachts, right through to
final lines drawings and stability calculations.
On our 60.35m (198') Blue Moon project, we depended
on Autoship to help us develop the hull lines we were
looking for in this luxury yacht. The hull geometry
is easily exported into Autohydro so we can run all
stability calculations necessary to ensure that these
yachts meet and exceed stability requirements when operating
in various loading conditions.
We have recently upgraded our Autoship System programs
to the latest 2006 versions and look forward to using
the new features on our forthcoming projects. Currently,
we are exploring new concepts (e.g. the future concept
Feadship 'X-stream' - as shown below) and expect that
new features like the Features Patches
and Edge Mate tools now in Autoship 9 will
help us to do this easier.
Having the Technical Support Department at Autoship
Systems readily available to provide us with answers
to any pressing questions helps to keep us ahead of
our challenging delivery schedule."
